Equine Work Experience

I started riding when I was 10 and rode till I was 15 (covid) in a school term program. At this stables I quickly progressed, and was confidently cantering, and was often given the 'spicy' pony to ride. During that time period I went to the stables most days in the school holidays to volunteer, often arriving early and staying late. I helped with mucking out, helping in lessons, making, mixing and handing out feeds, tacking and untacking, washing and grooming, and learned about a few first aid procedures. Started riding again at 18 once a week and continue to do so. At the current stables lessons are mainly flatwork and pole-work with occasional jumps. I currently work with an event rider in Brisbane, and receive a lesson once a week on one of her event horses. I do the AM feed, muck out stables, turn out the 5 horses, tack up, untack and bathe the 5 horses for schooling, clean yard and tack, administer medication, lunge when needed, and can be left solely responsible.
