I'm hard working and reliable. What I don't know I'm willing to learn. I'm not perfect, but I do my best and believe the animals come first.
Qualifications

I am hard working and like to get the work done. Good with the horses and what I don't know, I'm not afraid to ask. A good help with things in general. I'm reliable and believe the animals come first. I know basis equine first aid.

Duties of Current Occupation

Full/ general care horses. Basic first aid. Feeding, mucking, turning in/out, handling horses foal to senior, + stallions. Assistant barn manager. Barn manager/Caretaker, maintaining facility. Horseback trail guide in Banff. Show grooming.

Equine Work Experience

I spent 17yrs growing up on an arabian horse farm in New Brunswick. The last 3yrs I spent on the farm I worked as the head stable hand in the full-time care of 45+ horses. From assisting the vet to holding for the ferrier, ect. I've handled horses of all ages and administered basic first aid. I got a job in British Columbia at a hunter/jumper stable. I worked there for a year as assistant to the barn manager for the general care of a 56 stall barn. When my job was over there I began working for one of the clients who boarded her horses at the farm. She owns a small animal vet clinic in Vancoyver. I worked there for 2.5yrs. Worked at a farm in Prince George after that I worked at a bird hospital. Moved on from the bird hospital to manage a farm and be caretaker for 1.5yrs while owners spent time in their California residence. I then went on to be a horseback trail guide in banff and then a show groom.

Specialities

I have been a groom at horse shows, assisted in altrasounding mares, nursed newborn foals, basic first aid, including the distribution of bute and penicilin, except for giving needles. I have also handled the foals while they have vet checks. Taken temperatures and doctored cuts and the bandaging of legs and cold compresses.

Type of Ride Work

English and western. I consider myself a hobbie rider, not someone for showing. The only teaching I have done is teaching walk/trot to kids in summer camps.

Competition Details

I have never done any competing. But I have been a groom and helper at horse shows.
