• ranch work in Canada: training the younger/green horses, dealing with the guests, taking the guests out on trail rides, herding cattle on the fields

• farm work in Iceland: training the inexperienced horses, leading the course on horseback

I have some experience working with young and rather untrained horses, as mentioned above.

In Iceland we worked with more older horses. Although they were ridden, they either haven't been underneath a saddle in a couple months or haven't had any interactions with inexperienced riders yet.

At home I trained an older mare, that has not been correctly ridden in five years. She was very stiff and not motivated at all. After a couple weeks/ months, I got her to a point where she feels really soft for her rider and is willing to work. She know knows how to present herself correctly and is a lot more cooperative than before.

I worked with two different four and five year old geldings. The work consisted of desensitizing, riding and working them. I rode them out on my own, to give them more confidence being outside without any other horses around. I helped them work around loud noises and scary situations, while staying calm. We worked on their basic groundwork skills and confidence levels. I also took them out to herd the cows in a group of other horses, where they were able to get more experience .

I have ridden a lot of different horses but my main focus is on basic dressage and flatwork. I also like to do a jump every now and then and I have also participated in different jumping clinics at our local stable.
