Equine Work Experience
Worked for James O’Haire, Hawthorn Farm, Co. Kildare from October 2018 until Covid-19 put me out of work. Sole charge of busy competition yard while my employer is competing at national events. While taking charge of the yard I had to communicate with owners coming in/out, make sure they were obeying health and safety regulations while exercising or handling horses, using own initiative with getting things done throughout the day Exercising horses (mainly flat work, arena or gallops) General yard duties (mucking out, horses on/off walker, lunging, feeding, turning out etc.) Groom (pulling mane, trimming, grooming horses) I have 2 years completed in Equine Studies, level 5 & 6. I’ve been in the saddle since I was 2 years old. Was showing ponies when I was 4yrs + Qualified for the Dublin Horse Show when I was about 6. I’ve trained on plenty of different gallops all when I was 10-14yrs old Competed in and placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd in Hunter Trials Had 12 horses in total growing up
