Duties of Current Occupation

Mucking out, Grooming, tacking up, and preparing horses for training and competition. Exercising and riding horses. Feeding and daily horse care routines, Monitoring horse health and welfare, supporting veterinary visits, keeping yard clean.

Equine Work Experience

I have over 7 years of hands-on equine experience, including owning, training, competing, and caring for horses. I owned a project horse that I personally trained and developed over a five-year period, gaining valuable experience in schooling, fitness work, behaviour management, and building a horse’s confidence and performance.

I have competed in 90cm Show Jumping and Cross Country competitions, most recently during the summer season, and have developed a strong understanding of horse preparation, conditioning, and competition routines. Through both personal and professional experience, I am confident handling horses in a variety of environments and situations.

Specialities

I have a keen interest in breeding and stud management. During a visit to Coolmore Stud, I gained valuable insight into the management and care of stallions, mares, and foals, as well as daily stud operations and high standards of equine welfare.

Type of Ride Work

Showjumping, hunting, cross country

Competition Details

I have worked as a groom at equestrian competitions, preparing horses for classes, ensuring they were turned out to a high standard, and assisting riders throughout busy competition days. This experience has taught me how to remain calm, organised, and effective while working under pressure and managing multiple responsibilities at once.
