Past duties have included everything from breaking in yearlings to helping run pony camps for riding schools. Riding, lunging, turning out, grooming, etc.

Equine Work Experience

From a young age I have been riding horses and spending my days at the yard. I have experience in working for a riding school/livery yard where I helped with anything from mucking out, to hosting pony camps and keeping all riding school/livery horses fit. I have worked as a trekking tour guide in Co. Kerry, leading tours and full-day treks on horseback for up to 20 people. I worked as a rider & groom for Lipica Stud Farm (One of the largest stud farms in Europe with over 350 Lippizaner horses, based on the Italian border). While there, I led guided treks, hosted shows daily for tourists, worked the horses used for shows as well as riding school (ride, lunge, turn-out), checked on the mares and foals daily. I also worked at Culworth Grounds, a premium equine facility based in the UK. My role there was working for the stud farm which involved breaking in and training yearlings, riding on the gallop tracks, as well as everyday tasks such as turning out, feeding, mucking out etc.

Specialities

During my time working for Culworth Grounds and Lipica Stud Farm, I have worked closely with foals-yearlings as well as stallions. I have been responsible for hosting shows at Lipica Stud Farm for up to 80 tourists at a time.

Type of Ride Work

Show Jumping, small bit of dressage, cross country, hunting, lots of flatwork, working with horses of all ages.

Competition Details

I have competed in LeTrec competitions, Show Jumping and Cross Country.
