Duties of Current Occupation

Ran my own horse business for 15+ years, managing up to 25 horses, livery clients and horses in training. Daily care, training, lessons, bookings and full yard responsibility including maintenance, fencing, repairs and machinery.

Equine Work Experience

I have worked with horses most of my life and full time since 2010, running my own business and managing a yard with up to 25 horses, including livery clients and horses in training. My work includes young horse starting (riding and driving), behaviour work and rehabilitation after accidents, as well as daily handling and training of a wide range of horses.

I have experience with foals, stallions and horses of all ages and breeds, including sensitive and reactive horses. I focus on understanding the cause behind behaviour, not just the symptoms, and I am known for reading horses well and adjusting my approach accordingly.

A big part of my work is teaching owners. I run week and weekend clinics, as well as riding camps for both adults and children, helping people improve communication with their horses and build safer, more reliable partnerships. I also have strong practical experience running a yard, including maintenance, machinery and general farm work.

Specialities

Young horse starting (riding and driving), behaviour work and problem solving. Experienced with foals, stallions and horses of all ages and breeds. Very strong at reading horses and understanding subtle signals. Skilled at teaching owners clear communication for safer, more reliable horses. Experience with fear-based behaviour including bucking, rearing and trailer loading. Focus on safety, trust and calm, practical work.

Type of Ride Work

Confident rider with experience in flatwork, jumping and cross-country. Background in show jumping, dressage and eventing. Used to riding young horses and horses with behavioural challenges, with focus on balance, relaxation and confidence.

Competition Details

Competed in show jumping up to 110 cm, as well as dressage and eventing for several years! Also trained horses for harness racing. This has given me a solid riding foundation and practical understanding of training and performance.
