Bio
I’m originally from South Africa so specific countries I will need a visa which should be no issue to get. Currently coaching in Qatar, levels from beginner to advanced - I train my own competition team in show jumping. Feel free to contact me☺️Qualifications
I have a stable management certificate and recently did a FEI intro to coaching course, I really like to do level 1 in the future.
I’m also looking to do more courses to add to my CV and knowledge.
Duties of Current Occupation
Stable management, backed and produced young horses. I’ve worked on 2 top Stud farms in South Africa one in the English discipline and other Western. Equine rescue center, backing and rehabilitating horses as well as managing the farm.I coach riding.
Equine Work Experience
I’ve been riding and working with horses for 13 years. Backing and producing young horses in English riding (jumping and dressage) is my main experience, I also work well with “difficult “ horses, going back to basics to find the cause with a soft approach. I follow Monty Robberts and his way of horsemanship. Dealt with plenty of foals and even been involved in foaling, I can do basic horse first aid as I’ve needed to at all the farms I’ve worked at. I ride Western as well, I currently teach at an English riding which includes dressage and jumping (I have my own jumping team I coach that goes to competitions). I really enjoy hunting and the thrill of it, showing I absolutely love especially getting the horses turned out beautifully with their plaits. I’ve rehabilitated and backed horses at the rescue sanctuary that have gone through abuse and neglect, even dealing with foals and some stallions that came in.
Specialities
I’ve worked with lots of different types of horses, foals and stallions before. At the English stud I had to back and prepare youngsters for auction in a year which included jumping, I really enjoyed working with the young horses I’ve been a head coach and main farm/stable manager having a team work under me. I also really enjoy working by myself if necessary as I am motivated to do so and will get everything I need done. Dealt with quite a few foals even being involved in the foaling process.
Type of Ride Work
I’ve ridden and backed all sorts of horses from western riding to English riding and I adapt easily to the horse I’m riding. I do flatwork, jumping, dressage and hunting. I’ve even done cross country to teach horses to gain confidence. In western I mainly do reining but can do trail too. I also work with “difficult “ horses which includes bucking, bolting, rearing, kicking and biting.Horsemanship is also very important to me so every horse I work with starts with it to build trust between us.
Competition Details
I’ve had many successful competitions over the years. I’ve jumped 1.20m but been out of it for awhile so now 80cm/90cm. I’ve gone up to Advanced Medium dressage. I’m a showing queen, I love it! I’ve successfully competed in western dressage, reining and trail.
I’ve been a competition groom for a little bit, getting the horses plaited, washed and cleaned, boots or bandages are on correctly. In charge of making sure the horse/s have water and their haynet is full.
