Duties of Current Occupation

I Work at my family’s livery yard with 25 horses in loose housing and stables. Daily feeding, hay, water, grooming, turnout, basic wound care, hand-walking injured horses, and bringing horses in for the farrier. Also care for small livestock.

Equine Work Experience

Practical daily experience caring for horses at a livery yard, in both loose housing and box systems. Comfortable handling different personalities, supporting basic rehab work, and keeping routines calm, consistent, and organised.

Specialities

I have not worked with foals or stallions, but I am confident handling horses with different temperaments, including nervous or difficult horses. I focus strongly on horsemanship and building trust through a calm, consistent approach rather than force. One of the most challenging horses on our yard is now calm and responsive, ridden with a neck rope after steady, patient work.

Type of Ride Work

My riding experience focuses mainly on trust-building and understanding the horse. I do a lot of groundwork and long trail rides, working calmly with different personalities. Some light flatwork in the arena, always on a mild level with focus on listening to the horse rather than forcing work. Many of the horses I work with are former competition horses, some with behavioural challenges. Through calm, consistent handling, they are now relaxed, confident, and safe to work with.
