Duties of Current Occupation

Handling/grooming and riding all types of horses from youngsters to school masters doing a mixture of flat/show jumping/ cross country and hacking. Coaching liveries & school customers and Undertaking all general yard duties.

Equine Work Experience
  • I have been employed at Aberdeen Riding Centre full time for 3 years and prior to that I worked part time with the same employer and on a voluntary basis at Halymyres Stables for 4 years.
  • I have completed work experience with Willis Oakden Eventing and Lohoars Sport Horses/Drumcarrow Equestrian and have undertaken training at Ingestre Stables.
  • worked at copper beech stables teaching and riding
Specialities

Managing younger team members ensuring all duties done to a high standard Efficient at all mucking out duties eg hay nets, fresh water, rug and tack fitting, handing stallions, youngsters and challenging horses and being vigilant in terms of horse health daily horse checks Riding a variety of horses Lunging and long reining have good people skills dealing with customers/livery's Skilful grooming and observation of horse welfare and potential injuries liaison with vet contacts
