Handling a variety of school, livery and private horses from all backgrounds. Teaching Lessons and general yard work including mucking out, trimming, cleaning etc. Also Involves riding several horses and assisting in their training.
With over 10 years of practical and theory experience with horses, I believe that there is always something new to learn and I am willing to undertake any training that is required. My experiences with horses range from riding school horses, backing youngsters, exercising other peoples horses and also competing my own. This has made me a very adaptable person and I strive for a challenge.
My skills include time keeping and management, ability to liase with customers of all ages and caring for children and work as a team to keep the yard clean, presentable and safe for any visitors and customers. Reliability and organisation is also important to me. At work, I am responsible for the horses and visiting/volunteering children/teenagers, so have become very adaptable and caring in different situations. I manage training of new volunteers and offer continuous guidance.
I have experience in backing and breaking from 3 year olds up (including my own) and have also re-backed a few. I compete unaffiliated show jumping with a youngster and school over XC fences, exercise livery, college and riding school horses. I am confident on any horse and strive for a challenge. I am currently studying a degree in equine business management which includes an advanced equitation module with riding to BHS stage 3 standard (including dressage movements and a 1m course).
I currently compete unaffiliated show jumping on my 5 year old whom i broke in 2 years ago. This involves building confidence and riding for improvement and to benefit the horse, not for the sake of winning. Patience and understanding is very important and i am able to review each ride to find areas to work on.
At college I completed a 'prep for comp' module which provides evidence of my ability to turn out for competition.
