Type of Ride Work
Training and exercising from newly backed youngsters to maintaining fitness of showjumpers, through lunging, flatwork and hacking. Handling of foals and youngstock; yearlings to 3-year olds preparing for backing. Affiliated show jumping up to 1.30m; including organising 3-day international showjumping events. Basic dressage training and competition.
Competition Details
Judged and commentated at showjumping competitions to national level; organised 3-day international horse shows for amateur riders. Teaching all levels in group & private lessons for flatwork & jumping. Managed weekly training nights alternating between flatwork & jumping. Coursebuilding & judging showjumping competitions and occasional derby shows. Established equine club planning coursework covering the theory of good horsemanship, practical stable management, riding and assessing students.
