I have completed my BHS stage one and am studying for stage two. I am also a Mental Health First Aider, trained to deal with any stressful situations to do with mental health, especially for young persons.

Equine Work Experience

I am an extremely passionate equestrian who enjoys riding and all the responsibilities that come with it. I enjoy learning more about the animals and the sport every day, through practical and theory work. I have ten years of solid experience working with horses, riding and grooming. I have collected a large amount of knowledge from experience such as volunteering at a riding summer camp, a summer job at a yard helping beginner riders, and two years of a shared livery. These jobs involved getting the horses ready before lessons and then untacking and grooming after the lessons were finished, meaning I had to work quickly and be well organised.

Specialities

I can muck out and groom quickly from my previous work as a groom and competitor. I have ridden dozens of horses throughout my years of experience so I am very flexible and can work with any situation. I have high standards for animal welfare and yard management.

Type of Ride Work

I have had two years experience of shared livery. However, before this I worked with multiple horses of all types, problem horses, experienced horses and green horses and have never had issues. My main experience is in flatwork and show jumping, but I have also trained in cross country.

Competition Details

I was part of a competition team which allowed me to gain more experience travelling with horses and learning about safety. Being part of the team also meant I took part in practical and theory team lessons where we would learn all about the responsibility of owning and taking care of horses.
