Equine Work Experience
I have been riding horses since I was 7 years old. I started at riding schools, but have now owned my horse for the past 8 years. I have done a lot of hacking with her, and also competitions in dressage and show jumping. In previous show jumping competitions with her, I've jumped around 80-90cms. I have also done the occasional cross-country with her, as well as lunging/longreining.
As well as my now nearly 18 years of riding experience, I have also worked at an RDA centre. I helped with riding the horses, giving the sessions to the people with special needs of all ages and taking care of the horses. Daily tasks involved mucking out, skipping out, filling waters, making feeds, turning out, bringing in, exercising the horses, taking up and untacking the horses and giving the sessions. At the moment I'm working at an eventing yard where they have young and competition horses, looking after and exercising some of the horses there.
Specialities
People usually describe me as a very patient, calm, empathetic, understanding and open-minded person. I enjoy taking my own initiatives, especially in a horse environment where I feel comfortable very quickly, but I also enjoy working in a team and working towards goals together. Due to all my traveling in the past and living in numerous different countries, I adapt to new environments very quickly, have become a good problem-solver and am a quick learner.
Type of Ride Work
I have ridden for the past nearly 18 years of my life. I started in riding schools, got my own horse over the years who I have now owned for 8 years. I have done competitions with her in dressage and show jumping (up to 90 cms in competitions, jumped 110cm in training). I have also done a lot of hacking with her and the occasional cross country. I have also ridden other horses in schooling sessions and out hacking whilst owning my own horse.
