I have passed all my GCSEs, have a first year pass of Animal Management Level 3 from Shuttleworth College, and have a Diploma in Level 3 ZooKeeping.

I have worked at a few different types of yards (competition, riding and livery). I worked at a riding school from June 2019 until March 2020, have had a temporary job at a livery yard, and worked at a competitive yard from September 2022 until October 2023.

I will say that I am not versed in plaiting, clipping and lunging - these were all things that were done by the yard owners when I was too busy working to learn, and because I don’t have a horse of my own, I had no way of practicing.

I have worked with 3 year olds, competition horses and injured horses. I love to have a clean, tidy and organised yard. Although I do take a bit of time to muck out a stable, I have been praised multiple times on how clean they turn out and how nice they look.

I technically started riding back in 2014, but I would only really take lessons when we would holiday in Ireland (on average 3 times a year for two weeks) as my family keep horses on their farms and would allow me and my brother to ride them. It wasn’t until 2017 that I wanted to take riding seriously, however unfortunately my families financial situation meant I was unable to do consistent weekly lessons, but I was able to do at least 1 lesson a month. I have never competed or been to a competition as a groom myself, but I did work with horses who competed. (My previous yard owner didn’t take any of the stable hands/grooms with her to competitions). I have volunteered at both the London International Horse Show and the Royal Windsor Horse Show.
