Duties of Current Occupation

Mucking out stables, turning horses in and out, tacking up, sweeping the yard, feeding, putting rugs on/off (depending on the weather), riding to an extent.

Equine Work Experience

Ridden at a local riding school and livery for 10 years, continued to work there after my college course for almost a year. Went to BCA to study my level 2 diploma in horse management. Worked at a private yard specializing in horses used for film/tv show parts for 4 months. Previous job was working at a show-jumping yard with competition horses, gained some foal and loading experience whilst working there but left in August as I wanted to pursue my career with a different yard to gain more experience.

Specialities

Using my height as an advantage to tack up certain horses. Keeping the yard tidy to a personal high standard. Will take on any challenge or job that is asked from me, no questions asked.

Type of Ride Work

Used to ride green/problem horses before taking a year out of horse riding for personal reasons. Specialize in flat work, not too much experience with show jumping but have ridden lots of hunting horses (never hunted). Once had a horse on free loan from the owner of the yard that needed lots of refreshing after being in-foal for 2 years. I worked with younger horses on a daily basis but have dealt with horses of all ages.

Competition Details

Only competed once as a necessity for our college course. Very determined to start. Currently, I work at a competition yard but would need more guidance on what to do for competitions.
