Equine Work Experience
Chalkhouse Green Farm volunteer - I helped prepare Suffolk Punches for open days and agricultural shows, as well as looking after them once at the shows. I also rode one of the Suffolk Punches. I got the opportunity to work with one of the volunteers and his four horses to improve my ground handling, including long reining and problem horses. I also rode the four hoses which include an 18.2hh Shire and an Ardennes.
Palmers Riding Stables - As a riding instructor I work as part of a team teaching students age 4 and above as well as escorting hacks. My duties also include grooming, mucking out, cash handling and customer assistance.
Sacha Hamilton Equestrian - As a groom I was part of a team completing general yard duties as well as exercising (lunging, schooling & hacking) the full liveries.
I look after a number of horses when their owners are away, including a five year old ex-racer and an 18.1hh Shire
