Yard hand/groom I worked on a small livery yard local to my home when I was 16 years old My duties included mucking out, exercise riding a variety of horses and ponies from cobs to ex eventers, bring in and turn outs, hay net filling, feed making and preperation, rugging in differnet months and showing knowledge of what horses needed which rugs on, assisting in clipping, assisting in the weaning of foals and general upkeep of the yard. I thoroughly enjoyed the hands on and physical aspect of the job however my time at this role was cut short due to my GCSE commitments.

My current place of employment is a horse feed shop in solihull called the hungry horse, here I have picked up so much more knowledge on feed and equine nutrition and I have completed equine nutrition training with NAF, Baileys and Dengie. My day to day duties here are advising customers on feed, tack and any other equine query they may have. Thanks to this job I have excellemt customer relations

I have ridden a variety of horses both in my personal and professional life. I have loaned a 15.2hh ex race horse named inca and a 12.2hh welsh section B A variety of riding school horses and ponies from 11hh to 17hh My last horse was a 14.2hh Morgan who I rode both English and Western My current ride is a 13.2hh Hunting cob who I schooled and brought on myself as she was a little devil! On a previous yard I worked on I exercised an ex event horse on a regular basis
