Qualifications

While I haven’t completed a formal equestrian course yet, I’m very open to doing so if required, as I’m always keen to learn and develop my skills further.

Duties of Current Occupation

Groom Followed daily horse care routines, ensuring welfare standards. Prepared feeds, mucked out stables, groomed horses, checked health, and managed evening routines. Worked calmly with varied temperaments and maintained cleanliness and safety.

Equine Work Experience

Yes, I have practical horse experience from working as a groom. In this role, I was responsible for daily horse care tasks such as feeding, mucking out, grooming, and tucking up the horses. I also have riding experience, particularly with ex-racing horses, which has helped me develop confidence and skill in handling different types of horses. This combined experience has given me a strong understanding of horse welfare, handling, and stable management.

Specialities

While I haven’t had direct experience working with foals or stallions, I have gained valuable hands-on experience as a groom, caring for horses of various ages and temperaments. In my role, I have developed strong horse handling skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow routines carefully to ensure each horse’s well-being.

Although I have not yet had the opportunity to lead a team, I am confident in my ability to work well within a team environment and am eager to develop.

Type of Ride Work

I have riding experience mainly with ex-racing horses. My riding has included flatwork to improve balance and control, as well as hacking, exercise, and jumping.

Competition Details

I have competed in local shows as a teenager, which gave me experience with preparing horses for events and riding in a competitive environment. While I haven’t worked on a competition yard, I’m familiar with the demands of horse care and riding, and I’m keen to build on this by gaining more experience in a professional setting. I’m a quick learner, confident around horses, and always eager to take on new challenges.
