Equine Work Experience

I am currently working at a professional sports horse businesses yard helping all of the duties as well as learning how to maintain work under pressure. I did two months of volunteered work on this yard before I started working but total time is roughly around 6 months already and am currently working 40 hrs weekly.

Specialities

I am currently working around foals from 2 days old plus as well as broodmares most of the time. I have not had the opportunity to work with a stallion to date. When I am working within the yard area I always like to keep it mess free when possible so its all organised and tidy. I have always enjoyed being around horses and have been focused on a career with horses for many years.

Type of Ride Work

I have ridden large Frisians, sports cob and thoroughbreds as well as others. I have ridden a children's pony's who has been naughty towards young riders. I have produced a sports cob over two years from being scared of a pole laying on the ground to comfortably jumping 1 meter spreads and then gone onto cross country where he happily jumped over a 90cm roller top with confidence. I have experience in flatwork and jumping and I have also helped break in younger horses.

Competition Details

I have competed with the cob i mentioned before, who had is his first ever outing as well as show jumping at small local shows with previous loans beforehand. I have also attended shows as a groom with the sports horses who are jumping up to 1.40m. I have tacked up, loaded, washed off, untacked and switched horses.
