Duties of Current Occupation
I have done work experience at Snowball Farm whilst attending BCA. My duties were grooming, tacking up, feeding, poo picking and schooling. I'm about to start volunteering at South Bucks RDA to keep my skills up while I look for full-time employment.
Equine Work Experience
I have been riding regularly since I was 11. Initially, I attended Echos Equestrian Centre and was part of the Pony Club, but since 2021, I have been riding at Snowball Farm and have learnt so much from them. I have completed a BTEC Level 2 in Equine Studies at BCA. We covered a variety of subjects, which has put me in a good position to begin training as a professional Groom. I have a real appetite for learning, and I’m interested in how different yards work. I’m flexible to new routines and very willing to learn and get involved as much as possible. I’m observant and I have a calm manner when around horses. They seem to respond well to me. I have an Enhanced Certificate for a DBS check as I am going to be doing some volunteer work for South Bucks RDA (Riding Disabled Association) whilst I look for full-time employment. Due to my dyslexia, I’ve found that when I’m learning new things, a hands-on approach works best for me. If I can physically do a task, I learn faster.
Type of Ride Work
Flatwork, jumping, hacks, schooling, long-reining and lunging. I also did a little bit of dressage at BCA.
