Duties of Current Occupation

Sole charge and shared yard roles, including stable management, horse care, feeding & medication, first aid, mucking out & exercise routines. Experience in groundwork, behavioural issues and education of young horses. Liaising with vets and farriers.

Equine Work Experience

Over 15 years of experience working across racing yards, breeding yards, private yards and bloodstock sales in the UK, Ireland and Europe. Started my career in racing, riding out and caring for racehorses in both the UK and Italy, before moving into roles involving youngstock, broodmares, stallions and performance horses. Gained experience in horse training and behavioural work, including groundwork, confidence building, trailer loading and education of foals and young horses. More recently, I have worked extensively at sales, handling and presenting horses throughout the UK and Ireland. Comfortable working independently or as part of a team, with experience supporting less experienced members of staff. Additional experience includes in-hand showing, introducing young horses to the show ring, conditioning work, rehabilitation support, and working alongside vets, farriers and physiotherapists.

Specialities

Experienced working with foals, youngstock, broodmares and stallions. Confident handling a wide variety of horses, including sensitive and green horses, with experience in groundwork and behavioural issues. Comfortable working independently or within a team, with experience supporting less experienced staff when required. High standards of turnout and strong attention to detail.

Type of Ride Work

Ridden a variety of horses including Thoroughbreds, competition horses, Arabians, polo ponies, native ponies and Spanish horses. Comfortable working with sensitive horses and youngsters, with some backing experience and the ability to school horses to a basic level in flatwork.

Competition Details

I have worked in both event yards and in-hand showing yards, preparing horses for competition and showing. This includes grooming, plaiting, turnout preparation, and ensuring horses are presented to a high standard. Additionally, I have experience in bloodstock sales, preparing horses to the same high standard for the sales ring.
