I have been working towards my BHS STAGE 1&2, however, due to COVID-19, exams were cancelled and without this disruption I would have them under my belt and be working towards my STAGE 2 teaching qualification. I am a practical yet intelligent person who is happy to learn and take on any guidance. My A-levels include- Biology (A) Design Technology (A*) Welsh Baccalaureate(A), I am a fluent Wesh Speaker and went to Glantaf School in Llandaff, Cardiff.
Working on a busy riding school in the centre of Cardiff. Working with clients and staff. Exercising all 3 event horses 4 times a week. Maintaining their fitness and preparing them for competition. Grooming, clipping and general yard duties.
I have completed a week of work experience with my own equine vet Allen Brown where I learned so much more about the care of a sick horse. I have been working at Cardiff Riding School since November 2019, however due to COVID- 19 the number of yard staff has reduced significantly and I have since been let go. I have been working as a groom for Nic Smart where I have been exercising, competing and caring for her three event/hunter horses.
I specialise in eventing and have successfully competed over four seasons up to BE90. My biggest achievement over those 4 seasons was being placed 2nd at Bicton Equestrian Centre BE90. I have competed in every local competition and centre and have been all over the UK competing including travelling up to Cholmondely Castle for the national Pony Club Championships on three ocassions- 2016, 2018, 2019.
I am happy to do any sort of ride work. In preparation for event season I enjoy taking my horse to the gallops to better his fitness. I am a confident and competent rider who is happy to ride out alone or in company on hacks, at the beach, cross country, jumping or on the flat. I am happy to ride anything as long as not dangerous.
I have competed up to BE90 over the course of four season. I have competed at the Pony club champs on three ocassions, 2016, 2018, 2019. I have qualified for Blenheim eventers challenge. I have competed successfully in all local competitions and am looking to compete in a few BE100 events at the end of the season providing everything continues to go to plan COVID wise.
