Qualifications
BSc Hons Equine Performance and Rehabilitation with a Placement Year. Includes assessment for introducing horses to and carrying out lunging and long reining for exercise and rehab with training aids and poles. Pony Club D badge (and various other badges). First Aid and Riding Road Safety certificates.
Duties of Current Occupation
Previously been yard manager on a private hunting estate, head girl for two international showjumpers, and been full-time freelancing alongside uni for the past year. Also exp. with eventing, dressage, riding schools, and handling clients.
Equine Work Experience
Produced 4yr old OTTB to jump 1.30m showjumping. Produced TBs as allrounders. Produced hunters to jump 3ft+ and be able to hunt with the Ledbury. Experience hunting myself. Backed Section As and small ponies for children. Producing my own pony as an all rounder. Been working on a sales yard as the primary rider since October 2024 riding all types.
Specialities
Travelled to and groomed at SST Montemedio with up to 8 horses under my care at the show, inc. a stallion . Sole charge on multiple yards. Lead a team as yard manage. Worked with stud yards, handled foals from newborn, including donkeys! Experience riding top-level showjumping, dressage, eventing, hunting horses, and straight OTTBs. Ridden horses from 9hh to 18hh. Specialised in riding ‘problem’ ponies and breaking Section As and Shetlands whilst freelancing. Schooled a Spanish horse regularly.
Type of Ride Work
Schooled all sorts on the flat. Jumped many types, from introducing horses to jumping showjumps, solids, and hunt jumps, to competing at 90-1m showjumping, puissance (knocked out at 1.30m), and hunter trials at 3ft. Prepared hunters to take part in the Courtfield Cup (hunt race with hedges, walls, tiger traps). Jumped every jump at Ace XC with my own horse that I’m producing. Taken horses to the gallops. Capable of lunging and long reining for exercise and rehab. Driven a shetland.
Competition Details
Two placements during placement year on international showjumping yards as head girl and show groom at both. Travelled to and groomed at SST Montemedio for 4 weeks with 5-8 horses under my care, including a stallion, two mares, and five geldings. Competed myself in dressage, hunter trials, mounted games, one day events, combined events, and particularly showjumping.
