Duties of Current Occupation

I’m required to perform basic duties such as mucking out, turning out and bringing in, feeding, maintaining the yard, exercising horses and riding.

Equine Work Experience

I managed my own stables due to my enjoyable period of work experience, demonstrating a natural aptitude for interacting with others at a private yard for 7 years. My responsibilities included independently cleaning stalls, feeding, teaching, training, lunging, riding, turnout, bring in, paddock maintenance, ordered feed, trained horses, attended horse camp, grooming, riding horses out on my own. When the owner was absent I was responsible for running the farm which occurred regularly. I also attended a racehorse stables for a short period which was interesting as I’ve only ever been involved in showjumping.

Specialities

I muck out to a high standard and take pride in maintaining a tidy yard and stables. I can work at a fast pace however, I am also easy to get along with. I have always had a great passion working alongside horses and will take any job that involves handling them. I have had experience leading and also working well as a team proving how I am an ambitious and reliable hardworker

Type of Ride Work

I have been riding for most of my life and have had experience with many horses from bombproof to energetic horses. I have experience in show jumping, cross country and schooling. I have done lots of hacking and also many fun rides. I have assisted in starting horses helping with lunging and getting them used to their riding routine. I have also worked with a few green horses, training them in show jumping and schooling before selling them on.

Competition Details

I have worked as a competition groom before where I was responsible for accompanying the rider to their competitions, making sure the rider and horse were ready on time for their classes. Furthermore, ensuring the horse was competition ready, tacked up and groomed to a high standard.
