I currently have no equine qualifications however I would be extremely interested in gaining and working towards these.
I owned horses from the age of 7 years old (currently 21), until the age of 17. I moved from ponies to horses at a stable yard my auntie owned in north wales. I showed my veteran pony in hand for many years at regional and national levels and won the national championships twice for this. I then had two ponies after this and two horses, where I competed mainly in dressage but also enjoyed training in jumping in the school. I rode many different types of horses and ponies, and I owned mainly welsh X TB, with the exception of one Irish cob. I haven’t had a horse since I was 17, as my horse had to be put down due to a tumour in her throat blocking her breathing. I have not had a horse since and I am now interested into getting into full time work after my university degree so this would be my absolute dream job. I also did my work experience when I was in sixth form at a riding stables in Holywell.
I have just finished a law degree in Chester university with a 2:1. However my true passion is the equine sector and I have decided after many years of studying something I didn’t enjoy, I want to pursue a career in my passion. I have worked as an administration officer for Denbighshire Council for 4 years and I have also worked in retail. However before this I worked as a stable hand every weekend for many years at the yard where I owned my own horse.
I competed regionally and nationally in the VHS inhand 25+ class around 10 years ago and won multiple times in South Wales. I also regularly won at the Anglesey County Show and the Denbigh and Flint show.
I also competed in local ridden shows with my Welsh cross pony.
Later I competed in dressage at Foxes competition school on the Wirral in both preliminary classes and qualified for the Trailblazers qualifiers numerous times.
