I have a qualification in BSC in Mental Health Nursing which I know is not equine related but my communication skills are transferable and would be valuable to this team as I am able to successfully lead a team, identify strengths and weaknesses within my team, delegate accordingly in order for tasks to be completed , recognise my own strengths and weaknesses and aim to over come these.

At present I am working on a racing yard, my role is to ensure that all stables are mucked out, horses taken on and off the walker, assisting with jockeys tacking up and getting on, first aid.

I have been working on a racing yard which has taught me how to muck out at pace alongside ensuring that stables are completed to a high standard. It has also taught me that yard work is challenging but rewarding and that yard workers are a vital part of a team. I am successfully able to place horses on and off the walker where I am also able to give basic first aid under direction if required.

I have worked as a nurse for 6 years where I am now looking for a career change but from my career it has taught me transferable skills which would be implemented within this role. I am a good communicator where I believe that communication is vital within this role in order for a team to be lead successfully. I am a friendly individual who is adaptable and enjoys a challenge, alongside mucking out and keeping the yard tidy.

I have experience predominantly in ex-racers as my current horse is a thoroughbred who has raced, have been working hard at rehabbing him to be a all rounder. As a result have been working on lunging, long reining and flatwork. My horse has had injuries as well where I have had to treat under direction of the vet for example wound care and then rehabbing post incident once deemed sound.

I have not worked in any competition yards
