I have been around horses for as long as I can remember and started riding lessons at 7 years old. I helped to look after my older sister's horse when I was young by poo-picking and watering in the evenings any chance I got. I then had the responsibility of caring for two miniature Shetlands at 10 years old and then proceeded to get my own pony Bailey that summer. Bailey taught me a lot about dealing with nervous/anxious horses, his timid personality and bolting tendencies having sparked a love for horse training. A few months later I got a rather stubborn yet bombproof fell pony who gave me the confidence to try bridle-less riding and pursue natural horsemanship methods, while also taught me to be firm yet fair with what I ask from my horses. I currently own 6 horses ranging from an Irish sport horse to a PRE filly who I will be breaking in in 2-3 years.
