Equine Work Experience
My first job in the equine industry consisted of being a senior groom at Charnwood Forest Alpacas. This involved the day to day duties and running of the riding school and treks, i worked part time her for 10 months and my reason for leaving was to find full time work. I then started at Studland Trekking Centre which is my current place of employment where i work full time as a live in ride leader and yard groom. This role is mainly a ridden role with the running of the yard where we have 17 horses including some full liveries. Whilst Working here i have done alot of sole charge work aswell as some separate freelance work in my free time which i have thoroughly enjoyed.
Type of Ride Work
I have ridden a mixture of horses mainly being green or young and have competed locally. I have also hunted with a mixture of groups in different areas and done lots of fun rides and arena hires with my own pony. I do really enjoy starting young horses and would thoroughly enjoy exploring this passion at some point in my career. Whilst being at an equine college i gained my BHS Level 1 aswell as my ride safe award.
Competition Details
I have competed my own pony at unaffiliated shows in hand, working hunter and showjumping, aswell as hunted her occasionally.
