Duties of Current Occupation

I am currently a qualified senior Diagnostic Radiographer whereby I am responsible for taking diagnostic images of optimal quality so have an eye for detail. Organising and coordinating a team. I have owned, loaned but now only ride horses.

Equine Work Experience

I have been riding since the age of 8. I had loan ponies and then I owned a 14'2 sports horse that I competed up to BE90 on, placed at BE on this horse. Competed several unaffiliated events and went hound exercising. I then owned a 15'2 4 year old that I trained and competed at BE. Went to university to study for my degree and rode when I returned home at the weekends. Upon arrival home after university I have ridden my parents horses (16'1 COB, 17'2 COB and a 15'2 sport horse aged 5). I have been helping to bring on my mums mare, helping her to gain confidence and have competed both horses unaffiliated, obtaining placings on both. I recently loaned a 17'2 with the goal to compete but with COVID-19 restrictions was unable to travel to this horse any longer. I have volunteered as a yard groom whereby I went to prepare the owners multiple horses ready for different phases of BE event. At unaffiliated events such as show jumping, I was to warm up her horses ready.

Specialities

While I am not trained at BS level horsecare, I am keen to learn all aspects such as handling youngstock, clipping, driving a horse box, horse first aid. I have volunteered as a yard groom whereby I went to prepare the owners multiple horses ready for different phases of BE event. At unaffiliated events such as show jumping, I was to warm up her horses ready. I can plait, lunge and pull main/tail. I have tought my Dad as well as students at a Riding and Driving for disabled school.
