Equine Work Experience
I have worked with horses for 12 years and have ridden for 8 years. I have dealt with many types of horses from laid back riding school horses, nervous rescue ponies, ex race horses and some show jumpers. In my time at Nottingham Trent University I have learnt more about horse management and have gained a lot of new industry experience, I was also in the top riding group during my time at College. Now moving onto my degree I hope to develop even further. In the past I have done voluntary work at a riding school for 5 years , this included yard work, riding and supervising/teaching children. I also have helped to look after rescue horses throughout the 12 years I have spent with horses.
Specialities
I am very hard working, enthusiastic and passionate about horses and I am seeking a position in the equine industry. I can work to industry timescales and perform duties to a high standard of quality. Also I am eager to learn and develop my horse management and riding skills in a practical setting.
Type of Ride Work
I have been riding for 8 years, I can work confidently in all 4 paces with and without stirrups. I can school horses on the flat and over fences in both arenas and open spaces. I have good knowledge of lateral work and which exercises are needed to improve the horse. I have worked with young horses that have recently been backed as well as experienced competition horses. I mainly specialise in dressage(Elementary) and show jumping(up to 105cm) but have done cross country up to 90cm at college.
Competition Details
I do not currently compete, but I would love to. I have competed in the past in show jumping, dressage, ODE and showing but as I currently do not own a horse I have not competed for a while. I would mainly be interested in show jumping if I was to compete but would be up for dressage too!
