I am qualified at BSc level in Mechanical Engineering. I have a HGV Class 2 driving licence with a current tacho card and CPC card. I have BHS stage 1 and road safety together with the flat module for the BHS stage 2 programme.

I have been riding regularly for 17 years. For the first 10 years this was on riding school horses where I progressed by riding more advanced horses as my skill level improved. For the past 7 years i first loaned privately owned horses and then progressed to buying my own horse 4 years ago. I have completed the BHS stage 1 exam, the Road Safety exam and the flat module on the BHS stage 2 programme. I aim to ride 3 times a week and take my horse out in my 7.5t lorry to go hacking or to use one of the local all weather arenas for either flat or jump practise. Alternatively we ride cross country at a local farm or at Eland Lodge. I have competed at unaffiliated level for dressage at Preliminary class and also show jumping at 75cm. I keep my horse on part livery at a local yard. I complete all stable management duties myself every day and some feeding and turn out. I encourage other liveries to get out on horseback by taking them out in my lorry for hacking and competition.

I am the ideal candidate for this position because I am honest, reliable, hardworking, well spoken and have a passion for horses. My previous work experience has trained me to work safely and carefully as detail and accuracy are often the source of success.

I have ridden a variety of horses in schooling classes run by the riding school. I have ridden loan horses and my own horse in dressage and show jumping competition. I hack out in the countryside and also out on the road in our village.

I have competed at unaffiliated level in dressage and show jumping.
