Equine Work Experience

PAID WORK Newton Abbot Racecourse - current • Horse Catcher • Assistant Groundsman • Fixing brush fences • Filling in divots and ensuring the course is safe for horses and jockeys

VOLUNTARY WORK Coombe Park Mare and Foal Sanctuary - current

Haldon Riding Stables, Home Farm, Dunchideock, Exeter EX6 7YD - May to July 2019 • Diligently followed the correct feeding, bedding and husbandry procedures for all horses • Assisted with teaching in lessons for young children • Maintained and cleaned tack • Brought in horses from the fields, groomed and tacked them up • Made up haynets • Raked, mucked out and swept stables

The Miniature Pony Centre, North Bovey, Dartmoor TQ13 8RG – October 2021 • Led horses to and from the fields • Prepared horses for the public, including grooming • Gave information to and directed the public • Worked as a team with the staff • Fed horses and made up haynets • Cleaned out stables and fields

Specialities

I am passionate about having a career with horses. I am diligent, reliable, committed and always give 100%. I am a confident rider and ride regularly to a high standard. I love jumping and have ridden on fast rides with Cholwell Riding Stables across Dartmoor many times. On two occasions I have felt privileged to be asked to lead the ride, which was fantastic. I have regular BHS coaching at Oaklands Riding School, Exeter and St Leonards Equitation Centre, Launceston.

Type of Ride Work

I love horses and riding, especially jumping and am keen to complete further training to develop my skills, leading to a career with horses. I have been jumping to the height of 90 cm.

Although I have never competed, I am ambitious and would love the opportunity to do so.
