Passed a level 2 equine groom qualification with a distinction through Duchy College. This was completed through an apprenticeship, and passing the course is the equivalent of BHS stage 1 therefore I am working towards my stage 2. I have also completed my human first aid qualification.

General day to day care of horses in a riding school and livery yard including feeding, mucking out, turning out and bringing in, grooming, trimming, clipping, riding a variety of horses and instructing riders of all ages and abilities.

Since the age of 3 I have been having regular riding lessons, up until I started volunteering at the weekends at a riding school. From there I worked my way up and completed my apprenticeship with them. Over that time I have gained a lot of experience in dealing with horses and also people. I have experience in working with the riding school horses, as well has hunters and occasionally exercising other peoples horses for them.

I always work to the highest standard possible in everything that I do. I work well as an individual, managing time well and able to use my initiative where needed. Having worked on a busy yard previously, I also work well as part of a team.

I have worked within a riding school for the past 6 years, where I have had the opportunity to ride a variety of different horses, ranging from small misbehaving ponies to sports horses and thoroughbreds. I am a confident rider and have lessons and school horses on the flat as well as jumping regularly. We also regularly hack where I am confident and have a small amount of experience in breaking and bringing on. I have my own horse who I like to hunt as much as possible.
