Escorting workers around Exeter prison
I have previously done 3 days work experience for 4* eventer Gubby Leech. I have also previously worked at a hunt which was unfortunately cut short due to Covid-19. I spent 3 months here and my jobs consisted off Mucking out, exercising, lunging and the occasional hunting where possible. I also recently spent a year working for Mark Gillard Racing, I used to work only on Sundays due to transport, Sundays were spent solely by myself where I would muck out and feed all horses on the yard (Some days this would be up to 18 horses) and turn out any horses the trainer wanted to be turned out. My job role later changed and I would then help ride a couple of lots then help finishing mucking out, in my final few months I was solely riding out for the trainer.
I have very minimal experience with foals, just leading, getting them used to being in a stable etc. I used to help a women break in her stallion so he could be in ridden competition and not just in hand. I do my very best to turn out to a high standard, and get better with practice. I pride myself on being relatively quick at mucking out and always keeping a yard nice and tidy.
I have had my fair share of riding problem horses, including rearing, bucking, spinning and so on. I also had a small amount of time riding a very green 5yr old that was being retrained and I have also ridden young horses, the youngest being about 3 years old. (this was mainly at the race yard) I have done plenty of flat work and jumping at college and i previously spent the last 4 seasons hunting with The Portman Hunt. Although it is minimal I have had previous experience starting a horse
At college we would have to help with the ins and outs of the competitions on a particular week, this would include setting up arenas, setting jumps up to the correct height then changing them every round. In college towards the end of the year we would create a competition within our groups. On level one we had a dressage competition (Which i came second in) and on level 2 we had a show jumping competition (Which i also came second in)> Other then this i have not competed in any competitons.
