Qualifications

completed a full year of college studies in horse care, gaining practical knowledge and skills in equine management. Unfortunately, I was unable to complete my final assessments due to the need to travel abroad following a family bereavement. Despite not receiving the formal qualification, the year provided me with a strong foundation in stable management, horse welfare, and daily care, which I have since built on through extensive hands-on experience.

Duties of Current Occupation

Worked at a top showjumping yard, handling and caring for elite mares, geldings, and stallions, with responsibility for grooming, cleaning, and maintaining high standards of horse care.

Equine Work Experience

I have extensive hands-on experience in a variety of equestrian environments, developing strong skills in both horse care and rider support. I worked with Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA), assisting riders of all abilities, ensuring safety, and supporting therapeutic riding sessions. I also gained high-level professional experience at a top showjumping yard, where I was involved in daily care, grooming, exercise, and preparation of competition horses, while observing and learning from elite riders and trainers. Additionally, I worked at riding schools, managing day-to-day stable duties, preparing horses for lessons, and assisting with teaching beginners. Across these roles, I have built a well-rounded foundation in horse management, teamwork, and communication, alongside a deep understanding of equine welfare and performance.

Specialities

ave experience working with horses from foals to stallions, developing skills in handling, care, and management across all ages and temperaments. With foals, I supported early handling, groundwork, and socialization, ensuring a safe and calm introduction to people and routines. I also gained confidence working with stallions, focusing on safe handling, grooming, and welfare. This has given me adaptability, awareness, and confidence in managing diverse equine needs.

Type of Ride Work

I have a broad range of ridden experience across multiple disciplines, including flatwork, dressage, and showjumping up to 1.20m. I have also enjoyed extensive time on trails, hacks, fun rides, and gallops, which has developed my adaptability and confidence with different horses and environments. This variety of ridden work has strengthened my balance, technique, and understanding, while allowing me to build both competitive and leisure riding skills.

Competition Details

have competed in various disciplines and gained valuable experience working on a professional competition yard. During this time, I developed high-level skills in competition grooming, including preparing horses to top presentation standards, managing tack and equipment, and ensuring horses were cared for and ready to perform at their best. This experience has given me a strong understanding of the demands of competition environments and the importance of precision and attention to detail.
