Equine Work Experience

I have level 1 & 2 horse care management at Plumpton college lewes. I done this whilst I was at high school, one day a week over the period of two years, passing with distinctions. I have always helped with my dad’s youngsters, training them up to be handled and backed then sold on. My sister and I used to buy ponies from the new forest and break them to ride and drive and make a tidy profit years ago… I am currently working at another yard in Horam, training young carriage horses to drive, we have two lovely 2yr old friesian complete colts that are absolutely gorgeous and such sweethearts. I have my own horse I’m currently breaking myself.

Specialities

I live on a farm and my dad has bred and sold horses for years, me being the one to gentle them. I’ve had to lead his stallion and many other event horses on my currant yard. Mother and foal watches through the night, breeding friesians is no easy task! I am tall and leg strong so I am very confident with horses but I wish to learn more yard and teaching skills, as I’m not confident with theory sides of things at all, just good with horses and horses seem to trust me.

Type of Ride Work

I’ve ridden all sorts friesian dressage horses, jumpers and pony club superstars! I’m a confident rider when not under pressure but I’m looking to better myself and get over that, whilst learning more about the teaching Bhs side of things

Competition Details

I have no yet worked at any huge yards that could take me further but, I am so excited to experience shows and the good parts of being a groom
