Equine Work Experience
Here’s a more polished and detailed version suitable for a Yard & Groom profile:
I spent just over two years volunteering at a local riding school every Saturday from the age of 15 while completing my final two years of high school. During this time, I gained hands-on experience in horse care, stable management, grooming, tacking up, mucking out, feeding, and general yard duties. I also completed my Stable Management Tests A, B and C, Equitation Tests A, B and C, and achieved the Equestrian Care Award.
After leaving school, I began studying an Equine course at Kingston Maurward College. Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances, I was unable to complete the course. Although I had to step away from my studies, my passion for horses has never changed. I am eager to return to the equestrian industry, continue learning, and build a long-term career working with horses. I am hardworking, reliable and always willing to learn.
Specialities
I have not worked with foals, led a team, stallions or high turn out however I am willing to learn
Type of Ride Work
I have experience in a variety of riding activities, including flatwork, hacking, and jumping. I particularly enjoy developing my flatwork and have completed a good amount of jumping, helping me build confidence, balance, and an effective riding position. I am always keen to continue improving my riding skills and learning from experienced riders and instructors.
Competition Details
I have competed in an in-house competition at my riding yard, which gave me valuable experience riding in a competitive environment. It helped me build confidence, improve my focus under pressure, and develop my skills in preparing both myself and my horse for competition. I am keen to gain more competition experience in the future.
