Duties of Current Occupation

Racehorse Yard Groom – Daily care for 30+ horses including young stock, fit racehorses, and retired horses. Duties include mucking out, feeding, grooming, tacking up, exercising, and paddock maintenance.

Equine Work Experience

I have extensive hands-on experience with a wide range of horses, from thoroughbreds in active race training to young horses in early education. As the owner of a thoroughbred mare and a freelance equine care provider, I work confidently with horses of all ages and temperaments, including youngsters, fit competition horses, and retired or rehabilitating horses. My work has included daily yard duties such as mucking out, feeding, turnout, grooming, rug changes, and general health checks, as well as lunging, exercising, and handling spirited or sensitive horses. I have also supported horses at race meetings and managed them in busy environments, always ensuring their welfare and safety. My calm, consistent approach helps build trust quickly, and I pride myself on treating every horse as if they were my own. I am experienced in working both independently and as part of a small, dedicated team, maintaining high standards of care and yard presentation at all times.
