Equine Work Experience

I have been around and caring for horses since the age of six, with experience owning and looking after approximately 12 horses, including foals, youngstock and older horses. I have owned a young horse and have hands-on experience with daily care, feeding, grooming, mucking out, turnout, preparing feeds and haynets, changing rugs, cleaning tack and maintaining stables and paddocks. I am confident handling horses with different temperaments, monitoring their health, recognising signs of injury or illness, administering prescribed medication and providing basic wound care. I have also cared for horses overnight when unwell, helped at horse shows and shown horses myself. I have independently farm-sat approximately 21 horses alongside sheep, pigs and dogs.
