I unfortunately don’t have any equine related qualifications, but I am knowledgeable and a confident rider.

I used to work for Colin tizzard racing. This role included accompanying horses to races, riding race horses either on the gallops or hacking out. Mucking out stables to a high standard. Keeping the yard clean.

As well as owning a colt, I also own an 18h Irish sports horse, he is an ex hunt master, very big and very strong. He is now 16yrs and enjoying his quieter life of hacking, with the odd jump here and there. Although he is bomb proof and a gentle giant, he has recently developed some quirks - he recently bolted, but hasn’t done it again. He can be stubborn at going out, but with gentle encouragement and persistence he settles down and enjoys being out. He can sometimes have the odd very small buck if he doesn’t get his own way, again, he needs a firm and fair encouragement (and sometimes telling off) otherwise he thinks he’s in charge. I have been riding from the age of 4, starting off with a little Shetland, as I got older, i developed into jumping and even tried hunting.

I haven’t worked with foals. However, I do own a rising 2, Dartmoor hill x cob colt, I have owned him from 6/7 months old & currently working with him on the ground, lunging, long lining out and around the estate we live on, getting him used to heavy farm machinery and desensitising him. When I was working for Colin tizzard, I did handle youngsters, mares and geldings. Our turn out routine was of high standards.

I have ridden race horses, hunt horses, dressage horses and have done flatwork - especially with my 18h boy.

I have worked on hunt yards, stud farms and racing yards.
