Duties of Current Occupation

Responsible for the daily care and management of approximately 65 horses and ponies, all year round. Maintained a high level of animal welfare, safety and wellbeing.

Assisted in private/group lessons, children's pony groups and carriage rides.

Equine Work Experience

I've ridden horses since I was 12 and often volunteered at local riding schools (Bank House Equestrian was my favourite). I completed an equine management course from 2022 to 2024. Although I've never loaned or owned a horse, I helped care for horses and ponies on livery, including riding and general care. I worked on a yard as an assistant and carriage groom from 2020 to 2022, after which I started working at McDonald's; however, I still had consistent riding lessons. During my time working on the yard, I worked with all types of horses, from miniature Shetland ponies, aka mini demons (yes, I do actually love them), to my favourite Clydesdales; I worked alongside foals; however, my experience with them was limited at the time. I completed a youngstock handling and backing course at myerscough college.

Specialities

I've worked with foals and green horses; however, most of my day-to-day duties involved reliable horses. I have led a team at McDonald's.

Type of Ride Work

Mostly ground work, flat work and jumping, the highest I've done is 100 cm; however, I've not jumped in about two years due to not being able to travel; however, I have a full UK driving license now.
