Day to day care of horses (including youngsters), exercising and yard management.

I am Assistant Stud Groom at Writtle University College, after completing a level 3 senior groom apprenticeship. I have worked within the equine industry for at least 10 years, starting as a volunteer around the age of 13 years, I have worked hard and progressed constantly - I am exited to continue growing in a new role and environment. I've worked in different equine environments; such as livery yards/carriage driving companies/equine colleges, as well as working in different sectors such as retail. I have plenty of experience with breeding stock including stallions/foals/young stock and naughty problem horses. I have also assisted in the foaling process for three years. I have two ponies of my own, one that I rescued and backed myself.

Worked with foals, stallions, broodmares as well as other young stock/rescue horses and ponies. I have experience working alone and in a team - able to follow instructions and be lead role. As Assistant manager I have great people skills, able to efficiently organize the yard day, manage a team, make quick and logical decisions and produce a high level of care to horses and the yard itself. I manage both staff and students daily, I can also use a mixture of machinery.

I am a capable rider, have previously backed ponies under my job role. I will admit that I am not the fanciest of riders but I can sit to anything and get the job done! Looking to improve my riding work, as I have not had much time for it as of late.
