Equine Work Experience

I began working at a yard part time mucking out in 2014, since this time I have continued working at yards performing general yard work and ridden work.

I have worked at a riding school before, helping during the lessons, tacking up the horses and ensuring the lessons run on time and smoothly. Whilst working at the riding school, I gained my British Horse Society stage 1 and ride safe qualification.

When moving to Essex to complete my degree I began working at a private competition yard. Here I also carried out general yard duties and some ridden work.

Specialities

During my time at university I have handled a range of different horses, including foals, stallions, mares and geldings. I have 6 years of yard work experience, including mucking out, turning out and feeding. I have previously been left in charge of a stable management groups, leading them with day to day tasks such as lessons, hacks and general yard duties. In equine and other non-equine related jobs I have engaged with many customers, helping to fulfil their needs.

Type of Ride Work

I have been riding since 2014, performing a variety of ridden work including show jumping (up to 1m), cross country and dressage. I have gained my British Horse Society stage one and ride safe qualification.

Competition Details

I have worked at a private yard who regularly competes, therefore on numerous occasions I have assisted them whilst preparing for competitions, whilst loading and unloading the horses onto the lorries.
