Equine Work Experience
While at school, I volunteered at my local RDA yard every Saturday for five years, mostly helping as a leader for the horses, while supporting the riders.
I am currently BUCS Captain for the Southampton University riding team, as well as lesson coordinator for the club's advanced group lessons. This entails organizing lessons with our local yards, and arranging transport and payment for up to 25 riders a week, across three days.
Type of Ride Work
I have been riding school ponies/horses for most of my life, starting to learn when I was three years old.
I have only a little competition experience, as I only started competing when I joined university.
Most of my experience is in riding school horses on the flat and over jumps. A lot of my lessons involved riding the school horses that had misbehaved during previous lessons, but I do not have experience bringing on young horses.
Competed in Southampton University's BUCS teams.
This year I am also helping to organize the teams' home competitions, which entails hiring the arena and horses, communicating with the other teams involved in the competition, and making sure the events run smoothly on the day.
