Equine Work Experience

Groom/instructor for The Spanish Bit Riding School in Eton Dorney. June 2022-present.

Private home Groom to Jo Pay Showjumping. Jan2020- March 2020. Sole charge of 4 horses that range from a Shetland to competition horses to a 3 year old. This includes all general duties, maintenance and preparing the horses to be worked and properly seen to after they are worked. Horse walker, bathing, tack cleaning, lunging. Whitehall farm livery. October 2019-February 2020. (only member of staff providing services to liveries). Medium sized, fast paced yard. Handling up to 18 horses a day from competition horses to retired. 3 regular full liveries and sole charge of maintenance (including fencing). Management of my own books and main contact.

I have been riding English for 16 years with a key interest into schooling. I have taken on project horses and ponies through loans for 5 years. Confident in Flatwork, low level jumping, hacking, lunging, in hand, polework.

Specialities

Experience on a fast paced,high capacity riding school with daily duties and teaching required. Currently having 15 clients per week ranging between first lessons to intermediate. Riding daily to include leading out hacks (adults and children) and schooling. Weekly positive experiences with children with learning difficulties such as autism and ADHD. Motivated and active person with ability to be patient but work hard.

Trusted local groom for day or holiday cover.

Competition Details

I started my training towards being a competition groom in 2020, however due to covid, this was put on hold.

I hope to attend competitions this season as a good learning experience. I have not previously competed myself.
