Equine Work Experience

Been riding since I was tiny. My grandpa worked in the US equivalent of the Cavalry (nowadays just used for parades etc) and he taught me to ride and care for horses. I continued to learn and eventually started competing. First in flat work then onto dressage and hunter/jumper. I competed in IEA shows where you are put on a horse that is drawn out of a hat. That way you need to be able to handle a horse of any kind no matter how lazy or how crazy. Then I went on to work as a groom at a professional polo barn (Farmington Polo Club). I was part of a team that cared for about 30 horses. Care included: exercise, grooming, feeding, mucking, basic medical care, etc. We were also responsible for managing the horses during the matches. Each person is responsible for 2-6 horses since the players always need fresh horses.

Type of Ride Work

-I can ride English, western, and polo style -I love to go for trail rides and I love to jump -I would love to work as a general groom, beginner instructor, trail ride leader

Competition Details

-IEA competitions in the US (mosting hunter) -Some local competitions (dressage and jumper)
