I am presently studying Level 3 technical equine management at Writtle College. I am however already familiar with horse care as working with horses has been my passion ever since I was five years old. In terms of caring for horses I know how to groom and tack up horses, from my time learning how on ‘Own a pony day’, from my training and studies with the BHS horse care and knowledge and with my grandfather’s own horses.
As well as grooming I can also plait horses manes and tails, I can clean tack, I can long rein and lunge horses as well as ride. For my bhs riding exam I received a distinction for my skills. For horse riding I have been riding since I was five years old, in my 17 years’ experience I know how to ride horses well thus I am calm and confident in my riding. I know how to take in precautions for the horses I ride such as if they are sensitive in the mouth or their back, and I have some experience of dealing with youngstock, brooding mares and stallions.
