Duties of Current Occupation
Groom at F M Equine - mucking out, grooming, feeding, rugging up and bedding down. Leading horse from stable to fields, putting horses on walkers, preparing them for riding, lunging and checking and cleaning tack. Daily checks of horse welfare.
Equine Work Experience
Livery yard for 6 months before attending The British Racing School in Newmarket as a student on the Ground Based Yard Staff course. Learnt the basics of grooming, tacking up, travelling horses, the use of horse walkers, tractor driving, first aid, feeding, horse health, lunging and long reining. Successfully completed a trial at a Racing Yard
Specialities
Working with hunters, breakers and young horses on a livery yard. Ensuring all duties are completed to a high standard at all times with attention to detail and the ability to adapt quickly if situations change. Having a professional and mature manner at all times and especially when meeting with industry professionals and owners.
