Qualifications

I have never completed any equine related courses, however I still believe I am very knowledgeable and have the appropriate expertise.

Equine Work Experience

I have worked in equestrian environments for years, I worked at a riding school from the age of 15 until I went to university, this enabled me to grow my knowledge with horses as well as handling customers appropriately. I experienced leading a team of junior grooms, teaching them the roles that needed to be fulfilled at the riding school. I was able to teach some beginner lessons too, working with younger children and growing my communication skills. I have since had two jobs on competition yards handling anything from youngsters to top event horses. I have a little experiences with stallions also. I was mainly doing yard duties however I used to ride and hack the horses on a daily basis, as well as attend at regular competitions throughout the summer.

Specialities

I am a full time student studying equine science but am passionate about my work with horses, and intend on working in the field after graduation. I want to gain as much experience as possible, both with my riding and surrounding knowledge areas. I am efficient in yard work, quick and tidy. I am a friendly character who is a strong people person and will always have a smile of my face. I am a great team player and enjoy working with others massively!

Type of Ride Work

I have experience riding both green and young horses, I have produced by own previous horse from a 5 year old when I was in my early teens and it taught me a lot about starting a horse. I have experience in both jumping and flatwork, I have hunted for many years of my life and have really enjoyed it. I have ridden a variety of different horses with different weaknesses and have learnt how to overcome and improve these problems.

Competition Details

I have competed in competitions since I was young, up to BE100 and BS Discovery level. I have worked at competitions during my times on competition yards also. During my first year of university my riding really developed as I had regular coaching from a well respected showjumping coach. I haven't competed as much as I would like recently as my horse has just turned 19 and my university degree has been taken as my main priority!
